Clapp's Favorite is a popular American pear, mainly used for eating fresh but can also be used for cooking. The flesh is juicy and sweet.

As with most dessert pears, be sure to pick the fruits before they are fully ripe rather than leaving them on the tree, allow them to ripen fully in a fruit bowl.
