Winter Banana is an unusual American apple valued for a gentle fragrance that can genuinely suggest banana when the fruit ripens fully. Its tender, juicy flesh is best suited to fresh eating. The tree is partially self-fertile, although another variety improves cropping. The apples bruise easily and therefore need careful harvesting, handling and storage.
