À Côtes apple tree produces apples with intense flavour, combining strong sweetness and marked acidity.

The juice is very expressive on the palate, making this a characterful apple for those who enjoy rich, full-flavoured fruit.

The apples are picked during the second half of September and can be stored until January.

À Côtes shows good overall disease resistance.

Flowering is mid-late. The French source mentions Baguette Violette as a pollinating variety, but this point should be checked before publication because the original text uses another variety name in that sentence.

À Côtes is also known locally under several synonyms, including Pan à Côtes, Calvi de Prairie, Sans Pépin and Double à Côtes.
