Ruban is an exceptionally rare apple from Thiérache, rediscovered near Autreppes in northern France. This very hardy cultivar produces attractive dark red to purple apples with fine flesh, pleasant aromas and a good balance of sweetness and acidity. Fruit is eaten from October to December. We particularly recommend it for regional heritage orchards and specialist apple collections.
