Description

Ascahire is a large apple with a sharp flavour. It is primarily grown for juicing but can also be eaten fresh or used in the kitchen. The apples are ready to pick in late September.

Old variety found only once as a high-stem tree at La Groise, in Avesnois-Thiérache, probably not strictly local as it is present under other names in several regions.
