Saint Edmund’s Pippin is one of the finest English russet apples for fresh eating. Its moderately firm, juicy and mildly sharp flesh develops a rich, sweet and nutty flavour. It ripens earlier than Egremont Russet and performs well in cooler regions. The apples have only a fairly short storage life and are best enjoyed during autumn.
