Harrow Delight Pear Tree is a high-quality pear variety producing small to medium-sized fruit with very sweet flesh and a distinctive musky aroma. The pears are excellent when fully ripened, with a refined flavour well suited to fresh eating.
The fruit is harvested in October and can be stored for early winter consumption. For best eating quality, the pears should be picked while still firm, stored in a cool place, then allowed to ripen for a few days before eating.
Harrow Delight is particularly appreciated for its strong overall disease resistance, including excellent resistance to fire blight. This makes it a very interesting variety for growers looking for reliable pear production with reduced disease pressure.
The tree flowers early in the season and pollinates well with varieties such as Williams. It is naturally weak-growing, so even when grafted onto a vigorous pear rootstock it remains relatively compact and easy to harvest.
Our Harrow Delight pear trees are grafted onto different rootstocks and offered in several forms. The rootstock determines the vigour and eventual adult size of the tree.
