Reinette de Hollande Apple Tree is an old apple variety historically cultivated in northern France and Belgium, and associated with traditional regional orchards.
The fruit is medium-sized, with fine, firm and juicy flesh. Its flavour is well balanced, combining sweetness with refreshing acidity, making it suitable for fresh eating as well as traditional kitchen use.
Reinette de Hollande is known in northern French collections as an old variety, and has been linked to the historic English variety Baxter’s Pearmain, obtained in 1821. It was already mentioned in the 19th century by the nurseryman Thuillier-Alloux in Amiens.
This variety is particularly interesting for heritage orchards and regional fruit collections, especially for growers looking for traditional apple varieties adapted to northern France.
