Oksana is ideal for growers who prefer very sweet apples with little acidity. Its fine, juicy and aromatic flesh reaches the best quality when the fruit is harvested as late as possible in October. The vigorous tree has rigid wood, flowers late and shows good scab resistance. An open canopy helps reduce the risk of mildew and fruit rot.

Description

Oksana is an attractive late-season red-flushed apple, thought to originate from eastern Europe.

Oksana ripens in early October – and the apples should be left as late as possible for the best flavours.

The apples have a fine light crisp flesh, a mild sweet flavour, and very little acidity – so easy and undemanding to eat. The level of sweetness is affected by the summer weather – warmer temperatures generally means a sweeter flavour.
