Guigne Noire du Pévèle cherry tree produces soft-fleshed cherries, typical of the guigne type, with a good balance between sweetness and acidity.
The juice of this cherry is coloured. Guigne cherries are close to bigarreau cherries in character, but with a softer flesh rather than a firm, crunchy texture.
Harvest takes place in mid-June. The cherry season can begin earlier with varieties such as Burlat.
Flowering is early. Cherry blossom generally has good frost resistance. Guigne Noire du Pévèle can be pollinated by Guigne Noire de Ruesnes, Early Rivers, Burlat and other compatible cherry varieties.
This variety was found in Fâches-Thumesnil, in the Lille area of northern France.
We produce this grafted cherry tree on several rootstocks, which influence the final size of the mature tree. It is available in several tree forms depending on availability.
