Cerise du Sars suits gardens, home orchards and heritage fruit collections. Its yellow-and-pink bicoloured cherries are tender, juicy and pleasantly tangy. We recommend it to growers who prefer a soft, refreshing cherry rather than a very crisp bigarreau. The delicate flesh has a shorter keeping life, and a compatible pollinator is required.

Dispatch generally takes place from late November to February, depending on the weather and the progress of lifting the trees.
Du Sars cherry tree produces bicoloured cherries, similar in appearance to Napoleon. The fruit is rounded, with soft flesh and a flavour leaning towards tartness.
Harvest takes place in mid-June. The cherry season can be extended with varieties such as Grosse Cerise Blanche de Verchocq in early July, or started earlier with Burlat in early June.
Flowering is early. Du Sars can be pollinated by Griotte de Vieux Condé, Early Rivers, Burlat and other compatible cherry varieties.
This cherry variety originates from Sars-et-Rosières, in northern France. The original tree is not grafted, which makes it possible to identify the precise place of origin of this local variety with certainty.
We produce this grafted cherry tree on several rootstocks, which influence the final size of the mature tree. It is available in several tree forms depending on availability.
