Guigne Noire de Ruesnes is a dark red sweet cherry which ripens in late June or early July. It is quite widely grown in the north of France.
"Guigne" is a French word for a sweet cherry with a soft flesh - as opposed to the "Bigarreau" type which has a firmer flesh.
