The fine, tender and sweet flesh is excellent for eating and can also be used for juice and cooking. This hardy cultivar is relatively easy to grow. The apples improve after picking and develop their full aroma during winter storage.

Ananas Reinette is obviously quite similar to the English variety called Pitmaston Pine Apple, and it is possible it might be related to it.
