Roquet Rouge cider apple tree produces large bittersweet cider apples.
The apples are picked during the first half of October and are suited to late pressing, from November through to January.
Roquet Rouge can be used in late cider blends with varieties such as Armagnac, Colapuis or Baguette d’Hiver.
Disease sensitivity is average for scab, and the variety is not very sensitive to powdery mildew.
Flowering is mid-season. Roquet Rouge is a good pollinator.
This is a traditional cider apple from the Boulonnais area, in Pas-de-Calais, northern France. It was found in Samer.
We supply Roquet Rouge as a one-year maiden cider apple tree, available on medium- and strong-vigour rootstocks depending on availability.
