Reinette Hernaut is an excellent Belgian apple for growers who enjoy crisp and refreshing fruit. Its firm, exceptionally juicy flesh combines lively acidity with good sweetness. The tree begins cropping quickly, produces generously and the apples can keep until March. We would avoid heavy, damp soils, however, as canker can become a significant problem under those conditions.

Reinette Hernaut apple tree produces large apples with very crisp flesh and refreshing juice, well balanced between sweetness and acidity.
It is a good apple for fresh eating, and is also suitable for cooking or pressing into juice.
The apples are harvested in October and can be stored until January. Unlike some storage apples that lose juiciness over time, Reinette Hernaut remains juicy during storage.
This variety has fairly good resistance to scab and powdery mildew. A healthy, well-aerated soil without waterlogging is recommended to reduce the risk of canker.
Flowering is mid-season. Reinette Hernaut pollinates well with Cabarette and Colapuis.
Reinette Hernaut was found as a chance seedling around 1925. It is grown in the Hauts-de-France region and in Belgium.
