Pigeonnette apple tree produces small apples with an attractive elongated shape. The flesh is very crisp, juicy and well balanced between sweetness and acidity.
The aroma can vary considerably from one apple to another, a characteristic also observed in the Fuji variety.
The apples are picked in early October and can be eaten until December. For storage, harvest the fruit carefully without bruising it, and keep it in ventilated crates in a cool, healthy and lightly ventilated place.
Disease sensitivity is average.
Flowering is early. Pigeonnette can be pollinated by Stark Earliest, Transparente Blanche, Reinette des Capucins, or any other good pollinating apple variety flowering at the same time.
Pigeonnette is typical of the Boulonnais, Artois and the Hauts-de-France coastal area.
We produce this grafted apple tree on several rootstocks, which influence the final size of the mature tree. It is available in several tree forms depending on availability.
