New World nashi pear tree produces good-sized fruit with good eating quality. The fruit resembles a nashi, but is more tender due to its cross with the Williams pear.
New World is not very prone to disease, although nashi trees are naturally more sensitive to fire blight than pear trees.
Harvest takes place during October.
Flowering occurs in April, slightly before pear varieties that flower in mid-season, but the bloom periods overlap.
New World is a cross between the Williams pear and the Korean Giant nashi.
We produce this grafted nashi pear tree on several rootstocks, which influence the final size of the mature tree. It is available in several tree forms depending on availability.
