Nikolka is one of the best choices for a particularly early harvest. From late July or early August, it produces attractive dark-red, pear-shaped fruit with juicy, well-flavoured flesh. Concentrated ripening makes picking quick and efficient. It also means the grower needs to be available at the right moment, as much of the crop becomes ready together.

Nikolka is a modern early-season Cornelian cherry developed in Ukraine. The fruits of this variety tend to all ripen at once, making harvesting quick and easy.
The abundant fruits are large and bright red, with a bitter-sweet flavour, and can be rich in antioxidants. The stone comes away easily from the dark red flesh.
