Panchavero is particularly interesting for growers wanting large cornels for cooking. Its elongated cylindrical red fruit is juicy and distinctly tangy, making it excellent for preserves, syrups and bottling. It can also be eaten fresh when completely ripe. For a naturally mild dessert fruit straight from the tree, other cultivars are better suited.

Description

Panchavero Cornelian cherry tree (Cornus mas) produces large red cornelian cherries, cylindrical in shape and around 2 to 3 cm long.

This is a very good variety, suitable both for fresh eating and for preserves.

Panchavero ripens gradually from early September. The fruit can be kept for 3 to 4 weeks in cool storage.

The tree is naturally resistant to diseases and crops very regularly from year to year.

Budbreak and flowering occur very early, but the flowers have excellent frost resistance.

Panchavero is a Bulgarian variety.

We supply Panchavero as a grafted Cornelian cherry tree on seedling rootstock, grown in pot as a one-year plant, with an average height of around 1.4 m.
