Niesnij stands out through its translucent yellow, miniature pear-shaped fruit. The tender, relatively mild flesh can be eaten fresh and also makes attractive pale preserves. It is both early and highly distinctive in the garden. Fully ripe fruit drops quickly, however, and should be collected before it becomes damaged on the ground.
