Doux Corier Tres Rouge is an exceptionally rare heritage cider apple originating from Northern France. Once nearly lost, it survives today thanks to conservation efforts and is prized by enthusiasts of traditional cider varieties.
Its small, beautifully coloured red fruits contain sweet, juicy flesh with delicate aromas and very little bitterness. The juice contributes sweetness, fruitiness and roundness to cider blends, making it particularly useful when balancing more tannic varieties.
The tree is hardy and highly productive, although it may show some biennial bearing after heavy crops. Its mid to late flowering period and good pollinating ability make it a valuable addition to diverse cider orchards.
