Matador Cornelian cherry tree (Cornus mas) produces large, oval-shaped dark red cornelian cherries.
The fruits are very flavourful and juicy, making them suitable both for fresh eating and for preserves.
Matador ripens gradually from early September. The fruit can be kept for 3 to 4 weeks in cool storage.
The tree is naturally resistant to diseases and crops very regularly from year to year.
Budbreak and flowering occur very early, but the flowers have excellent frost resistance.
Matador is a French variety.
We supply Matador as a grafted Cornelian cherry tree on seedling rootstock, grown in pot as a one-year plant, with an average height of around 1.4 m.
