Kazanlak

Kazanlak Cornelian Cherry (Cornus mas) is a Bulgarian variety appreciated for its very large cornelian cherries and reliable annual production.

The fruit is suitable for fresh eating when fully ripe, as well as for preserves, jams, syrups and traditional processing. The berries ripen progressively from late August to mid-September, and reach their best flavour when they naturally fall from the tree.

Kazanlak flowers very early in the season, but the blossom is highly resistant to frost. The tree is naturally resistant to disease and can crop regularly year after year.

This productive variety can become highly fruitful with age, with mature trees capable of producing significant harvests under good growing conditions.

Our Kazanlak Cornelian cherry plants are available in several formats depending on current nursery stock, including young plants and larger container-grown plants that may already carry fruit buds.
