Fernor walnut tree produces large walnuts, slightly larger than Franquette.
The kernel is of excellent quality, easy to extract and has good storage ability.
Harvest takes place in October, and the nuts keep well after drying.
Fernor is not particularly sensitive to disease.
Budbreak is late, which gives the tree good potential to avoid late spring frosts.
Fernor was obtained by INRA from a cross between Franquette and Lara.
We supply Fernor as a two-year plant, grafted on common walnut, Juglans regia.
