Reine Claude Rouge Hâtive is a worthwhile heritage variety for harvesting large red to bright pink plums relatively early. Their sweet flesh is enjoyable fresh and holds its shape well when baked in pies and desserts. Cropping begins around mid-August. As its pollination requirements remain poorly documented, we recommend growing another plum flowering at the same time nearby.
