Discovery is one of the best early apples for Europe’s cooler climates. Its bright red fruit is crisp, juicy and pleasantly sweet-sharp, sometimes with a light strawberry note. The tree has a relatively compact habit and is generally easy to grow. Harvest begins in August, but the apples should be eaten fairly quickly because storage life remains short.
