Brown Turkey Fig Tree is a reliable and widely grown fig variety appreciated for its large brown fruit and very sweet flavour.
The first crop, known as the breba crop, can ripen very early, often from late June. A second autumn crop follows from late August, making Brown Turkey particularly interesting for regions with short or cooler summers.
This variety is considered a dependable choice for areas north of the Loire and parts of Belgium, where many fig varieties may struggle to ripen consistently. Its early production makes it one of the safest fig varieties for temperate climates.
Brown Turkey is resistant, productive and easy to grow, making it a good choice for gardens, sheltered orchards and warm sunny walls.
Our fig trees are container-grown. Plants supplied in air-pruning pots develop less tangled root systems, helping to improve establishment after planting.
