Bornholm Fig Tree is a hardy fig variety originating from the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. It is appreciated for its ability to grow and produce fruit in cooler northern European climates.
The figs develop firm red flesh with good flavour and pleasant sweetness when fully ripe. Harvest generally takes place from late September for the autumn crop.
Bornholm is particularly valued for its suitability to regions north of the Loire, where many traditional fig varieties can struggle to ripen reliably. Its hardiness and good adaptation to cool summers make it an interesting choice for northern gardens and sheltered orchard planting.
Our fig trees are container-grown. Plants supplied in air-pruning pots develop less tangled root systems, helping to improve establishment after planting.
