Calastra Grape Vine is a vigorous table grape variety producing large yellow berries that may develop attractive pink blushes on the sun-exposed side. The grapes are crisp, juicy and pleasantly fruity with refined flavour.
This variety ripens from mid-September and is considered relatively early, making it particularly well suited to regions north of the Loire where reliable ripening can be more challenging.
Calastra is regarded as one of the most disease-resistant grape varieties, showing especially strong reliability against downy mildew. Despite relatively early budbreak, it also demonstrates good resistance to spring frost.
The vine has a vigorous upright growth habit and strong orchard performance. Thanks to its resistance to phylloxera, Calastra can be grown on its own roots and is offered as a cutting-grown vine rather than a grafted plant.
