Jonkheer Van Tets Redcurrant is a very early and highly productive redcurrant variety appreciated for its long clusters of large bright red berries. The fruit is less acidic than many traditional redcurrant varieties, giving it a pleasantly balanced flavour.
This Dutch variety produces attractive clusters containing around 20 to 25 berries of good size. The fruit is suitable for fresh eating, desserts, jams and juice production.
Jonkheer Van Tets is particularly valued for its strong resistance to powdery mildew and anthracnose, making it a reliable and easy-to-grow variety for gardens and fruit production.
The shrub is self-fertile and generally ripens from mid-June to early July depending on local climate conditions. Fruiting can begin from the first years after planting and increases progressively as the plant matures.
Our plants are supplied as vigorous multi-branch bushes ready for establishment in the garden or orchard.
