Versaillaise Blanche is one of the whitecurrants we would choose for eating directly from the bush. Its translucent berries become mild, juicy and delicately flavoured when allowed to ripen completely, while remaining excellent in jelly and desserts. The harvest is relatively late, and fruit picked too early retains enough acidity to hide the cultivar’s naturally subtle flavour.

Versaillaise Blanche white currant bush produces white currants with a low-acid, rather sweet flavour when fully ripe.
The berries should be left to ripen properly before harvest. At full maturity, the fruit becomes fairly mild on the palate.
The white colour makes the berries less attractive to birds, as is also observed with the variety Blanka.
