Geneva G969 Apple Rootstock is a vigorous apple rootstock from the Geneva® breeding programme, producing trees generally comparable in vigour to M.7 or slightly less vigorous depending on soil and growing conditions.
G.969 is appreciated for its strong anchorage, high productivity and excellent resistance to fire blight, Phytophthora root rot and woolly apple aphid. It also performs well in replant situations and produces well-balanced orchard trees with good cropping efficiency.
Compared with dwarfing rootstocks such as M.9 or G.11, G.969 produces a significantly larger and more vigorous tree, making it suitable for lower-density orchards, weaker soils or situations requiring additional vigour.
This rootstock is considered one of the most promising vigorous Geneva® rootstocks for resilient and productive modern orchard systems.
