Wavit is a clonal rootstock for plums and apricots, producing smaller trees than St Julien A. It encourages early cropping, regular yields and good fruit size. Very winter hardy, well anchored and producing few suckers, it suits compact orchards and larger gardens. Its moderate growth nevertheless requires adequate soil fertility and reliable water availability during dry periods.
