Domaines is a French cider variety of particular interest where fire blight resistance is a priority. Its bitter, tannin-rich juice adds colour, structure and length, usually as part of a blend. We recommend it for professional or amateur orchards exposed to this disease. Early flowering can be a disadvantage on frost-prone sites, and its tannic profile should be balanced with sweeter apples.
