Gek is a modern hybrid or inter-specific plum. The plums are relatively large, and ripen early in the plum season. They have a bright green-yellow skin and have a sweet soft flesh.
Gek has a complex parentage including Japanese, Chinese, and Siberian plum species. As a result it is particularly cold-hardy and makes a good choice for growers in northern Europe. It also benefits from the productivity typical of Japanese plums.
