Elliott Blueberry is a productive blueberry variety appreciated for its large berries, generous cropping and well-balanced flavour. The fruit is aromatic, pleasantly sharp and refreshing, with good eating quality when fully ripe.
Elliott is a late-season variety, usually harvested from late July onwards depending on climate and growing conditions. Plants can often begin producing from the first year after planting.
Like all blueberries, Elliott requires very acidic, well-drained soil to grow well. The ideal pH is around 4.5 to 5.5, and generally below 6. In many gardens, replacing the planting soil with ericaceous compost or heath soil is strongly recommended.
This variety can also be grown successfully in a large container of at least 30 litres, provided it receives regular watering and suitable fertilisation. Blueberries particularly benefit from iron-rich nutrition in addition to standard feeding.
Elliott is a good choice for extending the blueberry harvest season with a productive, aromatic and well-structured late crop.
