Estive

Estive Blueberry is an early and highly productive blueberry variety appreciated for its small to medium-sized berries with firm juicy flesh and rich aromatic flavour reminiscent of wild blueberries.

The harvest generally begins from late June to early July and may continue until the end of July during cooler summers. The berries are suitable for fresh eating, desserts, jams and freezing.

Like other blueberries, Estive requires acidic well-drained soil conditions to thrive. Optimal growth is achieved in soils with a pH between 4.5 and 5.5. In many gardens, replacing the planting soil with ericaceous compost or heath soil is strongly recommended.

This variety can also be successfully grown in large containers of at least 30 litres, provided regular watering and fertilisation are maintained. Blueberries particularly benefit from iron-rich nutrition in addition to standard feeding.

Estive is an excellent choice for gardeners looking for an aromatic early blueberry variety with flavour close to traditional wild bilberries.
