Chirtout is a mulberry we would choose for abundance as much as flavour. Its large black fruit is juicy and aromatic, with enough acidity to prevent the sweetness becoming flat. Late budbreak and an extended harvest are valuable qualities. Plenty of room is needed, however, and fully ripe fruit drops readily, stains surfaces and has an exceptionally short storage life.
