GF677 Peach-Almond Rootstock is a vigorous clonal rootstock resulting from a hybrid between peach and almond. It is widely used for peaches, nectarines, almonds and some apricot varieties thanks to its strong vigour and excellent adaptation to calcareous and dry soils.
GF677 produces trees significantly more vigorous than Montclar or Saint Julien A, making it particularly suitable for poor, dry or limestone-rich soils where additional vigour is required. It also provides excellent productivity and rapid orchard establishment.
This rootstock is appreciated for its tolerance to chlorosis and drought conditions, although it performs best in well-drained soils. Due to its strong vigour, GF677 is commonly used in low- to medium-density orchard systems.
GF677 remains one of the most widely used vigorous rootstocks for stone fruit production in Mediterranean and southern European growing regions.
