Somerset Seedless Grape Vine is a vigorous and highly resistant seedless grape variety producing many small clusters of sweet, juicy berries. The grapes have thin skin and a pleasant muscat aroma, with flavours that can recall apricot when fully ripe.
This variety ripens early, generally from mid-August to early September, making it particularly interesting for cooler climates and shorter growing seasons.
Somerset Seedless is considered one of the most disease-resistant table grapes, with good resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew and even Botrytis. Its tolerance to Botrytis allows the grapes to remain on the vine longer when conditions are favourable, helping to increase sugar concentration and improve flavour intensity.
The vine is vigorous, robust and naturally upright in growth. Although it has early budbreak, it shows surprisingly good tolerance to spring frost.
Because of its resistance to phylloxera, Somerset Seedless can be grown on its own roots and is offered as a cutting-grown vine rather than a grafted plant.
