Versaillaise Rouge is an old cultivar with no need for fashionable claims, as it remains remarkably dependable. Early and productive, it bears large glossy berries with a fragrant, well-balanced flavour, equally useful fresh or in juice, jelly, sorbet and fruit wine. We regard it as an outstanding all-rounder. Other cultivars form longer strings, but few cover so many uses as successfully.
