Twisty Baby Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia ‘Twisty Baby’) is a compact ornamental form of black locust, appreciated for its unusual twisted branches and curled foliage.
This small tree or large shrub has a naturally contorted habit, giving it strong architectural interest even in winter when the bare branches are visible. In spring and summer, the fresh green leaves add a light, elegant texture to the plant.
Twisty Baby is much smaller than the common black locust, generally reaching around 2 to 4 metres depending on pruning and growing conditions. It is well suited to small gardens, ornamental borders and specimen planting.
Like other Robinia varieties, it prefers a sunny position and well-drained soil. Once established, it is tolerant of dry conditions and relatively easy to grow.
