Metasequoia is a spectacular tree without looking visually heavy. Its soft, feathery foliage gives it the elegance of a light conifer before turning copper and falling in autumn. Fast growth makes it excellent for parkland, large gardens and moisture-retentive ground. We would not plant it where space is limited, as the narrow young tree eventually exceeds twenty metres.
