Farold 87, also known as OHxF 87, is a clonal pear rootstock combining moderate vigour with early cropping and uniform orchard growth. It is highly tolerant of fire blight and also performs well against pear decline, winter cold and lime-induced chlorosis. Compatibility is broad across pear cultivars. Its eventual size varies with soil and climate and should not be considered truly dwarfing.

Compared with quince rootstocks, Farold® 87 produces a significantly more vigorous and well-anchored tree, making it particularly suitable for difficult soils, replant situations and traditional orchard systems.
