Reliance is one of the most dependable seedless grapes for colder climates. Its pink to red berries have tender skin, melting flesh and a very sweet flavour with a light strawberry note. The vine is vigorous, winter hardy and disease resistant, ripening early in September. Heavy rain close to harvest can nevertheless cause some berries to crack.

This variety is considered one of the most disease-resistant table grapes, showing very good resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew and anthracnose. Despite its early budbreak, it also demonstrates surprisingly good tolerance to spring frost.
Because of its resistance to phylloxera, Reliance can be grown on its own roots and is therefore offered as a cutting-grown vine rather than a grafted plant.
