Majoam is the fig to choose when a genuine fruiting plant is wanted without devoting several metres of garden to it. This compact mutation of Violette de Bordeaux bears abundant small dark-purple figs along its branches, with sweet, aromatic flesh. It performs particularly well in a large container. It is much smaller than a standard fig, but still needs roughly 1.5 metres of space.
