Solara grapevine produces attractive, fairly compact bunches of oval dark blue grapes.
The berries are very sweet, with a slight acidity that gives good balance. This variety is well known in German-speaking regions and can be used for fresh eating, winemaking or juice.
Solara has very good resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew and downy mildew.
Harvest takes place from late August to mid-September.
Budbreak is fairly early, so the vine can be more exposed to frost than later varieties. A sheltered position is preferable.
Solara is a vigorous grape variety and can be used for pergola training.
We supply Solara as a grafted grapevine plant, bare-rooted and of professional quality.
