Red Williams is an excellent choice for growers wanting the classic flavour of Williams with a much more eye-catching fruit. Its flesh is fine, melting, sweet, juicy and aromatic, while the red skin gives strong visual appeal for gardens and direct sales. Like standard Williams, it ripens quickly and has only a short keeping period once fully ripe.

Description

Red Williams is a red-coloured sport (natural mutation) of the popular Williams pear variety. Also known as ‘Sensation’.

The skin has a red flush and the leaves may also develop a red tint.

The flavour is very good, and growth characteristics are similar to Williams.
