St. Julien A is a popular semi-vigorous rootstock, compatible with all varieties of plums, peaches, nectarines and most apricots. It produces a mature tree with a height between 3m - 5m, and fruit production should start at the age of 3-4 years. No staking is required once the tree is established.

Trees should be planted 3.5m - 4.5m apart.

St. Julien A can be used for large plum bushes, half-standards, and large plum fans.

St. Julien is cold-hardy down to USDA zone 6 or 7 - approximately -20C.
