Kirchensaller is a vigorous clonal seedling rootstock of Pyrus communis, compatible with all European pears and Perry pears, and is the best choice if you want to plant a traditional pear orchard. Kirchensaller produces a standard pear tree with a mature height of 6m or more, and no staking is required.
Trees grafted on Kirchensaller should be planted 5m - 7m apart.
Pear trees on Kirchensaller have the potential to be very long-lived, i.e. over 100 years in the right conditions. If you want to "plant pears for your heirs" this is the rootstock you need!
Rootstocks are usually 8-10mm grade, the best size for grafting. Please order by January for delivery in February - March. If you wish to order a large number of rootstocks please contact us.
Let me know when Kirchensaller pear rootstocks are back in stock.
If you do not hear from us by March you can contact us to pre-order for next autumn.
